About Desert Botanical Garden
Located in Phoenix's Papago Park, the Desert Botanical Garden is home to over 50,000 plants representing more than 4,000 taxa from deserts around the world.
History & Heritage
Founded in 1939 by the Arizona Cactus and Native Flora Society. Swedish botanist Gustaf Starck served as the first director. The garden has grown to span 140 acres.
