The Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, is one of the most significant botanical gardens in the United States. Spanning 120 acres, the gardens encompass 16 distinct themed areas.
History & Heritage
Henry E. Huntington purchased the San Marino Ranch in 1903. The institution opened to the public in 1928. The Desert Garden, established in 1905, is one of the oldest collections of mature cacti in the world.
Signature Feature
The Chinese Garden — Liu Fang Yuan
The Liu Fang Yuan Chinese Garden, opened in 2008, is the largest classical Chinese garden outside of China. It features hand-carved Taihu limestone rockeries and a 1.5-acre lake.
