About Naples Botanical Garden

Naples Botanical Garden is a 170-acre botanical garden located in Naples, Florida, dedicated to the conservation of tropical and subtropical plants. The garden features cultivated gardens and preservation land representing seven distinct natural habitats and ecosystems. It is the youngest garden in history to receive the American Public Gardens Association's prestigious Award for Garden Excellence in 2017.

History & Heritage

The garden was founded in 1993 by a visionary group of local plant enthusiasts. In 2000, Harvey Kapnick, Jr. donated $5 million for the purchase of 170 acres of open space. Construction on the first phase began in 2008, and the master plan implementation was completed in October 2014 with the opening of the Chabraja Visitor Center.

Signature Feature

The Preserve

The Vicky C. and David Byron Smith Uplands feature more than 30 acres of pine flatwoods and coastal scrub, one of the state's most imperiled habitats. The 90-acre preserve also includes the Collier Enterprises South Wetland, a signature restoration project that serves as a critical stopping point for migratory birds.
