About Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, established in 1991, spans 295 acres of stunning landscapes in Boothbay, Maine. The gardens offer a diverse collection of native and ornamental plants, breathtaking stonework, and unique artistic installations, providing an immersive experience for all visitors.
History & Heritage
The vision for Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens began in 1991 when a small group of MidCoast residents dreamed of creating a world-class public garden. After years of dedicated planning, planting, and building, the gardens officially opened to the public on June 13, 2007. This ambitious project transformed 148 acres of rocky coastal forest into a vibrant horticultural destination, later expanding to its current 295 acres, becoming a significant cultural and ecological asset to Maine.
Signature Feature
