About Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory
The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory is an enclosed conservatory spanning 100,000 square feet. It features a 25,000-square-foot seasonal showcase garden, a tropical oasis with a cascading waterfall, and a Sonoran Desert display. The gardens display over 1,200 plants of 502 different species and 72 types of cactus.
History & Heritage
The conservatory opened its doors to the community in November 1983. It was founded by Helene Foellinger of the News-Sentinel and her friend/attorney. The building was constructed on land donated by the city, creating a unique urban oasis.
