About The Oregon Garden

The Oregon Garden is a 130-acre botanical garden located in Silverton, Oregon. Opened in 1999, it features over 20 specialty gardens, including the Children's Garden, Rose Garden, and a unique water garden that reuses treated wastewater. The site is also home to the Gordon House, the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in Oregon.

History & Heritage

The idea for a public showcase garden was conceived by the Oregon Association of Nurseries in the 1940s, with serious planning beginning around 1990. The garden officially opened to the public on April 17, 1999, attracting 250,000 visitors in its first year. In 2001, the historic Gordon House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, was relocated to the garden grounds to save it from demolition.

Signature Feature

The Gordon House

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1957, the Gordon House is the only Usonian house by Wright open to the public in the Pacific Northwest. It was relocated to the Oregon Garden in 2001 to save it from demolition and opened to the public in 2002.
